Pastor Bob and Martha Ensminger

Pastor Bob and Martha Ensminger began their ministry at Refuge Baptist Church in January 2019. Bob came to assurance of his salvation and surrendered to ministry at the age of nineteen while serving at a church camp.

He transferred from electrical-engineering studies to Bible college and graduated from Appalachian Bible Institute, now Appalachian Bible College, in 1977. In 1978, he joined United Missionary Fellowship, now Biblical Ministries Worldwide.

Beginning in 1980, Bob participated in teaching and church-planting work in New Zealand. Bob and Martha married in June 1981 and returned to New Zealand later that year.

Their ministry later included:

  • An eight-month interim pastorate at Maili Bible Church in Hawaii
  • Five years of church-planting ministry on Savai‘i in Samoa
  • More than twenty-six years of church planting and leadership training in Fiji

They returned to the United States in December 2017. Bob accepted the call to pastor Refuge Baptist Church in November 2018, and their ministry at Refuge began January 27, 2019.

Pastor Ensminger's stated passion is to see people come to Christ for salvation and grow through the Word of God. His ministry emphasizes clear, expository Bible preaching.

Bob and Martha have five married children and nine grandchildren.
